{"id":974,"date":"2019-04-09T06:38:35","date_gmt":"2019-04-09T06:38:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/?p=974"},"modified":"2019-04-09T06:41:10","modified_gmt":"2019-04-09T06:41:10","slug":"out-of-the-52-candidates-of-bjp-and-congress-25-are-not-even-graduates-in-gujarat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/out-of-the-52-candidates-of-bjp-and-congress-25-are-not-even-graduates-in-gujarat\/","title":{"rendered":"Out of the 52 candidates of BJP and Congress , 25 are not even graduates in Gujarat!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AHMEDABAD: Out of the 52 candidates fielded by main contenders BJP and Congress in Gujarat, 25 are not even graduates, while in one seat the most qualified nominee, a doctor, is pitted against a Class 5 dropout.<\/p>\n<p>As per details furnished by candidates in their nomination forms, BJP&#8217;s Surendranagar seat nominee Mahendra Munjpara holds a doctorate degree in general medicine while his main rival, Congress&#8217; Soma Patel, dropped out of school after Class 5.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Munjpara is contesting the Lok Sabha polls for the first time, while Soma Patel is a three-term MP, who also won the 2017 state Assembly election from Limbdi.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the 25 non-graduates, 14 have been nominated by the BJP and 11 by the Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Among these 25, four of the Congress and one of the BJP did not complete their matriculation.<\/p>\n<p>BJP&#8217;s sitting MP Kirit Solanki, who is again contesting from Ahmedabad (West) seat, its Valsad seat nominee KC Patel and Congress&#8217; Bardoli seat candidate Tushar Chaudhary hold MBBS degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Two candidates, Parbat Patel and Bharatsinh Dabhi, contesting on BJP&#8217;s ticket from Banaskantha and Patan seats, respectively, are lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, BJP&#8217;s Mitesh Patel and Congress&#8217; Bharatsinh Solanki, both contesting from the Anand seat, are qualified engineers.<\/p>\n<p>BJP&#8217;s Kheda seat nominee Devusinh Chauhan and Bardoli candidate Prabhu Vasava also hold engineering degrees.<\/p>\n<p>BJP&#8217;s Panchmahal seat nominee Ratansinh Rathod and Dahod candidate Jaswantsinh Bhabhor are B.Ed (Bachelor in Education) degree holders.<\/p>\n<p>Besides, two candidates of the BJP and five of the Congress are commerce graduates.<\/p>\n<p>As per the nomination forms, BJP&#8217;s Bhavnagar candidate Bhartiben Siyal holds a BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic<\/p>\n<p>Medicine and Surgery) degree while Congress&#8217; candidate from the same seat, Manhar Patel, has done a diploma in agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>Lok Sabha elections for 26 seats in Gujarat will be held in a single phase on April 23.<br \/>\nTotal 573 candidates have filed their nominations in the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AHMEDABAD: Out of the 52 candidates fielded by main contenders BJP and Congress in Gujarat, 25 are not even graduates, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":976,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[23],"tags":[156,68,555,49,286],"result":[],"election_2018":[],"class_list":["post-974","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-lok-sabha-2019","tag-bjp","tag-congress","tag-gujarat","tag-lok-sabha-elections-2019","tag-lok-sabha-polls"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/974","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=974"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/974\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/976"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=974"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=974"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=974"},{"taxonomy":"result","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/result?post=974"},{"taxonomy":"election_2018","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/election_2018?post=974"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
