{"id":111,"date":"2018-12-19T10:28:14","date_gmt":"2018-12-19T10:28:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/myvotemyindia.in\/blog\/?p=111"},"modified":"2018-12-19T14:55:27","modified_gmt":"2018-12-19T14:55:27","slug":"smriti-iranis-defamation-case-cancelled-but-no-good-news-for-sanjay-nirupam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myvotemyindia.in\/news\/smriti-iranis-defamation-case-cancelled-but-no-good-news-for-sanjay-nirupam\/","title":{"rendered":"Smriti Irani\u2019s defamation case cancelled, but no good news for Sanjay Nirupam!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New Delhi:<\/strong> The Delhi High Court Wednesday quashed the summons issued against Union minister Smriti Irani in a defamation complaint filed against her by Congress Leader Sanjay Nirupam.<\/p>\n<p>The court, however, dismissed a similar plea by Nirupam\u2019s seeking to set aside the summons issued against him in a cross-defamation complaint filed by Irani.<\/p>\n<p>The court of justice said the case against Nirupam will continue.<\/p>\n<p>Justice R K Gauba passed two separate verdicts on both the leaders\u2019 plea.<\/p>\n<p>In her plea, Irani had sought quashing of the summons issued to her by a trial court on June 6, 2014. She had also sought quashing of the complaint filed by Nirupam.<\/p>\n<p>Nirupam had challenged a magisterial court\u2019s March 11, 2013 order summoning him in Irani\u2019s defamation complaint against him.
