S. Muniswamy is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was born on April 16, 1975, in Yaluvaguli, Malur Taluk, Karnataka. Muniswamy's political career began as a panchayat member, and he was later elected in Kadugodi in Panchayat elections. In just a decade and a half, his political fortunes have skyrocketed from being a panchayat member to Member of Parliament. He was first elected in Kadugodi in Panchayat elections. Later he became a member of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, from Kolar in Karnataka in 2019 as a BJP candidate after causing a massive upset by defeating Congress heavyweight, former central minister, and seven-time member of parliament K. H. Muniyappa in his own bastion.
Muniswamy participated in the launch of a new train service from Kolar to Whitefield and during the occasion promised to take up the doubling work of the railway line between Marikuppam and Bangarpet-Kolar-Bangarpet. According to the affidavit filed by Muniswamy with the Election Commission in 2019, he has two criminal records and declared assets worth Rs. 1,98,65,690.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Muniswamy of the BJP won the Kolar Lok Sabha constituency with a margin of 2,10021 votes by defeating K. H. Muniyappa of the Congress. Muniswamy has also raised "Matters of Urgent Public Importance" in the Lok Sabha.
