Joshi came in contact with the RSS in Delhi at a young age and took part in the Cow Protection Movement in 1953–54, in the Kumbh Kisan Andolan of UP in 1955,demanding halving of land revenue assessment. During the Emergency period (1975–1977) in India, Joshi was in jail from 26 June 1975 until the Lok Sabha elections in 1977.
Life and profession
He was born on January 5, 1934, from the Kumaon Hills region of northern India, part of the state of Uttarakhand. Joshi was educated in Chandpur, Bijnore and Almora. He completed his B.Sc. from Meerut College and M.Sc. from Allahabad University. The teachers were Professor Rajendra Singh, who later became the Sanghchalak RSS. He did his PhD at Allahabad University. The subject of his PhD was spectroscopy. He published a research article in Hindi physics, a first in kind. Politics and activism
Joshi came into contact with the RSS in Delhi at a young age and participated in the 1953-1954 cow protection movement in Kumbh Kisan Andolan of UP in 1955, demanding a halving of land revenue. During the emergency period (1975-1977) in India, Joshi was in jail on June 26, 1975 in the Lok Sabha elections in 1977. He was elected deputy of Almora. When the Janata party came to power for the first non-congressional government in Indian history, Joshi was elected general secretary of the Janata parliamentary party. After the fall of the government, his party left the party in January 1980 and participated in the Bharatiya Janata Party or the BJP. Joshi first took over the central office as general secretary and then became party treasurer. As Secretary General of the BJP, he was directly responsible for the states of Bihar, Bengal and Northeast. Later, when BJP formed a government in India under the name Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Joshi was appointed human resources minister in the cabinet.
Joshi is known to have been influenced by the life and activity of Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Deendayal Upadhyaya. Joshi was a three-month-old from Allahhabad before his defeat in the May 2004 elections in Lok Sabha. He was elected BJP candidate at the 15th Lok Sabha of Varanasi. of the BJP Manifesto Preparatory Committee in 2009. He was honored as a "proud past pastor" of Allahabad University by the Alumni Association of Allahabad University. He was a member of Parliament for Varanasi and left Narendra Modi in 2014 for the Lok Sabha elections. There is a Kanpur sequel and won from the constituency by a margin of 2.23 lake votes.

Babri Masjid Demolition
In April 2017, Supreme Court of India has reinstated the criminal conspiracy charges against Murli Manohar Joshi though they don't have any conclusive evidence.
