Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The constituency was established in 1952 and has no reservation. The constituency comprises five Vidhan Sabha segments. The Indian National Congress (INC) has won the seat twice, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won it once. In the most recent Lok Sabha by-election in 2022, Dimple Yadav of the Samajwadi Party won the seat. The constituency has a significant Yadav population, with 45% of the 1.73 million voters being Yadavs. The other dominant castes are Shakya, Brahmins, Scheduled Castes, and Muslims. The recent by-election was necessitated after the demise of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav in October 2022. Yadav's elder daughter-in-law and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav is the SP candidate in the by-election.
